Finished Projects...Ahhh, Feels Like 2012 Is Off to Good Start

Little girl's quilt bound and done. Her birthday was late September so I shouldn't be bragging but at least I finished it before she graduated high school, lol.

Remember the colorful quilt designed by Jacqueline de Jonge? It will join the finished project list very very soon. Here's a reminder.

I love the bright paper pieced quilt! How are her patterns to work with? I have one that I haven't looked at yet, I've done several Judy Niemeyer quilts, though.
Kudos on the little girl's quilt! I have wizard of oz fabrics for my little twin nieces, they graduated high school last June!

de Jonge patters are easy to piece; however, this one is one of the early ones that isn't printed on foundation paper. You have to trace it, which is very time consuming. The assembly was not as easy as I had hoped but it could be that my drafting was a bit off. And I don't like her assembly sequence. If I do another one I'll do it in the sequence that makes more sense to me. But, that said. I'm about to start another one of her patterns and I'm a lot smarter now on how she thinks. If you're a member of QNN (Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims internet show) there's a show with her and she gives some good guidance on how to work with her patterns.
